Express Entry – Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

Canadian Experience Class (CEC) provides a way to permanent residency if you have a minimum of 1 year of Canadian Work Experience.

CEC Eligibility and Requirement Criteria
  • You must have at least a year (1560 hours) of full-time or part-time work experience in Canada
  • Your work experience should be at a skill level (i.e. at NOC O, A, or B jobs)
  • Your work experience should be from within the past 3 years from the date of application
  • Your work experience should be gained under a valid visa with the temporary resident status that permits you to work
  • Self-employment or work experience as a full-time student is not counted towards the minimum requirement of the program
  • There are no academic requirements for the program; however, Canadian education or equivalent foreign education can help improve your rank for the Express Entry pool
  • Your English Proficiency should be from within the past 2 years of application and fall above the minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 for NOC 0 or A jobs and CLB 5 for NOC B jobs
