English Proficiency Requirements:

In order to secure an admission, it is compulsory to give a language test such as IELTS, Duolingo English Test or TOEFL.

Visa Process:

All study programme’s of more than 6 months require a student visa in Canada. In order to get the Canadian student visa, the students need to show that they are enrolled in a Designated Learning Institute(DIL), have sufficient funds to cover tuition fees, living cost, and transportation expenses, be a law abiding citizen with no criminal records, and show that they will leave Canada post the completion of their study period.

Students applying for a student visa may apply under these categories:
Student Direct Stream (SDS)

Under normal circumstances and for citizens of another country, the time to avail a student visa is anywhere between 90-120 days. However, for Indian students there is a special provision called the Student Direct Stream or SDS.

Under SDS, the visa processing time is only 20 days provided the students fulfill the following conditions:

  • Admission in a full-time study program at a Designated Learning Institute(DLI)
  • IELTS Score of 6.5 bands overall with not less than 6.0 in each of the four modules
  • Purchases of a Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) of $10,000 CAD to cover living expenses for first year of stay
  • Proof of payment of first year tuition fees
  • Medical exam done at least one week before submission of the visa application
Non-SDS

If you do not meet the eligibility for SDS processing, you may still be eligible to apply for a study permit through the regular study permit application process/ Non-SDS program.
