- Student visas (F visa) and Work visas (L & H-1B visas) are set to be prioritized this year owing to the demand for Indian IT professionals.

- The H-1B visa is a non-immigrant visa that allows US companies to employ foreign workers in speciality occupations that require theoretical or technical expertise.
- Technology companies depend on it to hire tens of thousands of employees each year from countries like India and China.

- The total number of visa applications to be processed in a day is set to be increased from 1000 to 3,500.
