  • The universities have affordable tuition fees and living expenses which make it easy for the student and the family to plan out their finances
  • Australia is also extremely diverse and multicultural which makes students feel at home and help build affable communities
  • The Australian Government allows the students to work up to 20 hours a week (part-time) during their semester and full-time during the semester break
  • Australia also offers great Permanent Residency(PR) opportunities for Indian students post their study. To apply, you must show your interest through the SkillSelect migration programme. For graduates, the preferred option is the Skilled Independent Visa (subclass 189)

Overseas Student Health Cover

Australia has an unique system in place for international students called the Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC). This is collected so that you can pay your hospital bills in case of an emergency while you are studying there.

Visa Process and Requirements:

After you have accepted your offer and paid the tuition fees, you will be issued a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) as an evidence of your payment. This will ensure that you can apply for an Australian Student Visa (subclass 500). However, to be eligible for a student visa, you need to be enrolled for study with an educational institution, provide the necessary documents starting with your Statement Of Purpose(SOP), all academic documents, your passport, your financial documents, coverage for your health insurance and many more.

Normal student visa processing time takes anywhere between 40-50 days. Depending on the volume, it might even take more time. Moreover, if you study in Australia for a course that is longer than 10 months and it finishes at the end of an Australian Academic year (mid-December) your visa will be valid until the 15th of March the following year.
