Requirements for Studying in The US
1 – Academic Requirements
  • Admission into any institute depends on the past performance of the student. Each and every institute specifies the minimum grades or the GPA(Grade Point Average) it will accept.
  • 3 Years Bachelor’s Degree is also accepted. However, such students need to get a WES/ECE evaluation.
  • Work experience is mandatory for some post graduate programme’s.
  • A minimum of 12 years of post-secondary education is required for securing an admission into an Associate or a Bachelor’s Program.
2 – English Proficiency Requirements
For Undergraduate programme’s:
  • IELTS- Minimum 6.0 bands
  • TOEFL 80
  • PTE 55
For Post-graduate programme’s:
  • IELTS Minimum- 6.0- 7.5 bands with not less than 6.0 in each module.
  • TOEFL – 100
  • PTE 70
3 – Quantitative Exams
  • SAT/ACT Scores may be required for Undergraduate programme’s.
  • GRE/GMAT Scores may be required for Post- graduate programme’s.
4 – Working while studying in the US
  • Working on campus with F1 Visa
F1 Visa allows students to work while they are studying in the US. But it is under these conditions:

Work 20 hours/week during regular full-time semesters.

Work more than 20hours/week between quarter semesters.

Work more than 20hours/week during school breaks (including winter and summer break).

  • The US also offers options for working off-campus. However, the students must have completed their first academic year before they become eligible.

Circular Practical Training (CPT) allows you to do training, work or even internships that might be part of your program.

Optional Practical Training (OPT) provides you with the option to do an off-campus job or internship for 12 months,
provided its in your field of study.
